Explained solutions

Our work-through videos feature comprehensive explanations. Using a virtual whiteboard, each question is meticulously solved and elucidated in real-time. You'll have the opportunity to witness the entire process through our detailed video solutions accompanied by insightful audio commentary.
  • NVR is a questioning technique that measures logical intelligence. Solving an NVR question demands a critical thinking process, that is, the objective analysis and evaluation of a problem in order to form a judgement.

  • While words can be used to describe the process, NVR problems are typically a series of pictorial or figurative representations where the correct outcome is selected from a set of answer options.

  • The skills required for this process are drawn from many areas of experience (perhaps even hereditary). Early years play, the use of building blocks or Lego, completing puzzles and perhaps an interest in geometry, all play a part.

  • NVR is a specialist subject that is not specifically studied at school, indeed it is unregulated and many feel it can be taught alongside verbal reasoning or maths. This can diminish the opportunity for the student as the skills involved can be wide and varied and require a great deal of practice as there are many different question types to understand.
